It's been almost a year since my last post and it might be fun to spew out a few updates; you might fall asleep since it is not that exciting. lol Blend up the margaritas...here are the tall tales.
Unreal Tournament 3
I bought an Xbox 360 when Halo3 came out and I still haven't warmed up to it. I just prefer PC gaming...the games are more social since people like to type and I like shooting with a mouse way better than a joystick. This year I have been xboxing more and more and completed Call Of Duty 4, Gears of War, Assassin's Creed and a few others. Assassins was one of my favorites since it is kind of like the old game "Thief". It is also visually cool how they white saturate everything...the story gets a little repetitive but I have fun finishing it.
Lately I am into UT3. This is an old-school first person shooter and sadly the days of the FPS are over. Now everything is war game shooters like COD4. If you liked Quake 1 and 2 and Half-life, then you will love this game. Sadly few people play it so it is almost dead on Xbox Live. Speaking of Xbox Live...do you know what Microsoft needs to do to dominate the industry? I read this on another blog and completely agree...make live Free! It is stupid to charge for it. Give away the damn razors to sell blades you damn MS MBAs! If Live was free, Xbox would be on fire. More people would play more games and the entire social element of xbox would grow four fold.
If you dig deathmatch and capture the flag, give UT3 a try. It probably has the fastest footspeed of any FPS which makes for non stop action.

Saint's Row 2
Sassy Sparkle got me interested in this game...I am not sure what to expect but the game looks cool so far and I believe it might be a persistent world. You can also customize your gang of crooks.

Spore Crushed on Amazon
I somehow screwed up my pre-order of spore and have to re-one click but man oh man, Spore is being murdered by reviewers on Amazon all because of a heavy-handed DRM by EA. Check out the stars! 1.5 out of 5...eeep!

I Got The Cancer
Did you see No Country For Old Men? I copy the old lady in the back of the car and run around saying "I gots the cansa!" Some of you may remember that I got cancer around 10 years ago in my leg and had it surgically removed...all was well until two years ago and since then it has been a challenge. I have stage 4 melanoma at this time and the stats are bleak. This generally means I have a 5% chance of surviving five years. I have been in chemo for the last three months and it was hell. The chemo is not so bad as the recovering from chemo...I lost all my white blood cells and had to stay inside to avoid infections and you feel like you have been hit by a truck. The good news is that my cancer has at least temporarily stopped growing and I have 90 days no-chemo for now. I will then get rescanned and me and my doc will re-evaluate. I can try one last chemo plan and then there is nothing left to try. I feel great right now...but cancer is sneaky and tries to spread to major organs after a while and that is the risk. I continue to do battle and say "Fuck Cancer!" =)
Zomg, Lich King
Are you still playing WoW? I stopped a few months ago...my rogue was fully purpled out and I don't really enjoy leveling multiple characters so I took a break but Lich will sadly suck me back in. If you play wow...do this command /played and it will tell you how many damn days of your life this addiction has consumed lol. I am at 70 days and I think I am a light-weight. 70 full days of my life have been sucked away playing carrot-on-the-stick and give-me-purple-gear! Ahh well. I bet some people are over 200 days which is really bizarre!
Poker
As I await for xbox games and Lich to arrive, I play more and more poker in real life. Palm Springs is a cool area for gamblers because there is so much Indian land out here...and Indians can have casinos in California. Most days of the week I can play two or three poker tournaments at The Spa, Morongo, Fantasy Springs and Spotlight 29. This year I have played close to 300 tournaments and I am happy to report that I am up around $5,000 US. Some day I might even get brave enough to try and play at one of the big events you see on TV.

Sidekick 08
A long time ago I had a Sidekick3 and then I forget if I blogged that I got a BlackBerry Curve? It seems every cell phone has some good points and bad points. Recently I went to the new Sidekick 08, and although it is a step down from the BlackBerry...I like it much better. If you dig texting and IMing...the SK08 is a sweet little phone.

If you read the reviews...the sidekicks always get murdered. But again...if you use your phone for GPS...you will hate the sidekick...if you want wifi...pass...BUT if you live for texting and instant messaging and email...it is a 9/10. The shells are now totally customizable too.
